Myanmar plans Asian-standard opening ceremony of SEA Games

Host Myanmar is planning to hold opening and closing ceremonies of the 27th SEA Games on a grand scale in December, meeting Asian standards, official media reported Tuesday.

The SEA Games opening ceremony will feature advanced technologies with the help of technical assistance by about 200 Chinese experts, said the New Light of Myanmar.

The opening and closing ceremonies will be staged at Wunna Theikdi stadium in Nay Pyi Taw.

The stadium will be installed with one 110-metre LED screen and other six screens for the ceremonies.

The opening ceremony will be held under 163 agendas to showcase Myanmar traditional culture.

On the occassion, Myanmar famous film directors will present the song "Maha" with special effects. Popular national vocalists will also sing songs.

The 27th SEA Games will be held in Nay Pyi Taw, Yangon, Mandalay and Ngwesaung beach from Dec. 11 to 22.

It is the first time in 44 years for Myanmar to host the SEA Games.
