Brazil's architecture and engineering association, Sinaenco, has ranked Belo Horizonte as the best prepared city to host next year's FIFA World Cup.

Criteria included the state of stadiums, urban mobility projects and transport, Sinaenco said in a release.

Belo Horizonte, whose Mineirao stadium was among the first of Brazil's 12 World Cup venues to open earlier this year, was given 12 ranking points, eclipsing the northeastern cities of Fortaleza (11) and Natal (10).

Rio de Janeiro, which will host the final on July 13, was fourth with 10 points and Sao Paulo fifth with nine.

The lowest ranking went to the Amazonian city of Manaus with five points.

"World Cup preparations in Manuas have been a marathon in terms of efforts to meet established deadlines," Sinaenco spokesperson Jorge Hori said.

"The stadium and the airport are going to be ready but there is going to be no urban mobility legacy."
