China's central government is conducting a survey in Hengqin, Qianhai and Nansha, all in South China's Guangdong Province. The three places may be included in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao free trade zone (FTZ) plan that Guangdong has applied to the State Council to set up, China Securities Journal reported Tuesday.

The focus of the planned FTZ is the opening-up of the service industry, especially service trade, the report said, noting Hengqin may become a pilot region for service trade.

Experts said that Qianhai, Hengqin and Nansha would have different focuses - finance cooperation and opening-up in Qianhai, service trade opening-up in Hengqin and goods trade in Nansha.
