A bus driver was delivered a verbal threat after he called police on two passengers who were trying to sneak a goat on to his bus in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province on Tuesday morning.

The driver surnamed Shi was threatened by two unnamed passengers after the morning rush hour around 10 am. They had tried to board the bus with a 20-kilogram goat despite city regulations prohibiting animals on public transit.

The passengers pushed their way on to the bus despite Shi reaching out to stop them, explaining to them that the animals were not allowed on the bus.

Shi called police for help after they tied their goat to a pole on the bus and refused to get off.

As police were escorting the passengers out and removing their goat, one of them shouted back to Shi, "This goat is supposed to be killed at noon. If we miss the deadline then we'll be back to kill you."

To protect Shi, the bus company has put him on another route.
