An ancient building complex in the city of Hongjiang in Hunan Province, Central China, caught fire Sunday afternoon, with no casualties.

An official in charge of Hongjiang ancient town, a tourist attraction and national cultural heritage site, told the Xinhua News Agency the spark had been traced to a military uniform factory dating back to the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) on Silk and Embroidery Street.

Firefighters fought smoke and flames for three hours on Sunday.

The 200,000-square-meter building complex under State protection includes more than 300 well-preserved structures built in the Ming and Qing dynasties.
