French President Francois Hollande met visiting Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Paris Wednesday to push forward bilateral ties.

During their talks, Hollande said France highly valued the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.

France was willing to work with China to celebrate the 50th anniversary of establishing diplomatic ties next year, maintain the momentum of high-level visits, expand bilateral trade, promote cooperation in such fields as investment, nuclear energy, urbanization and tourism, and maintain cooperation in regional and global affairs, he said.

Hollande also condemned Monday's terrorist attack in downtown Beijing's Tian'anmen Square and expressed condolences to the victims.

Wang, for his part, said Chinese President Xi Jinping and Hollande had reached consensus on deepening the comprehensive strategic partnership and outlined the direction of the development of bilateral ties.

The two sides should further strengthen mutual strategic trust, deepen strategic communication and enhance strategic cooperation, he said.
