Chinese top legislator Zhang Dejiang on Thursday met with Sidarto Danusubroto, chairman of the People's Consultative Assembly of Indonesia.

Zhang, chairman of the National People's Congress (NPC) Standing Committee, said during the meeting that China and Indonesia have enjoyed great development of bilateral cooperation in various fields.

The two states' leaders decided earlier this month to upgrade bilateral relations to a comprehensive strategic partnership and determined the direction for developing the relationship, he pointed out.

Zhang said the NPC is willing to enhance communication and cooperation with Indonesia's legislative body in order to implement the consensus reached by the two countries' leaders and advance healthy development of bilateral ties.

Sidarto Danusubroto said he hoped for more contact between the two countries' legislative bodies and strengthened pragmatic cooperation in various fields.
