Cuban boxers are preparing to face the strong Russian team on Dec. 6 at Havana's Sport City Coliseum, following two victories from its debut in the World Series of Boxing (WSB).

The Cuban Boxing Federation (FCB) announced its team includes Yosbany Veitia in the 49kg category, Ramon Luis (75kg) and Erislandy Savon (91kg), who crushed their Mexican opponents in their WSB debut.

Cuba's team will also include two-time champion Marcos Forestal (56kg) and Luis Oliva (64kg).

With a total of 10 victories in its first two presentations, Cuba is the only team to have won all their fights in the 4th WSB.

The Cuban team now has the challenge to maintain its winning streak against Russia, which is looking for a win after losing (2-3) on home turf to reigning champions Kazakhstan.

In WSB Group B, Russia is in third place with four points, after defeating Poland and losing to Kazakhstan.

At the bottom of Group B are Mexico and Poland, both of which have zero points.

This is the first time Cuba competes in a tournament governed by the rules of professional boxing, which was banned on the island in 1961.
