Pakistan on Tuesday expressed concerns over the violence in Thailand and called for peaceful solution to political crisis.

"It is our hope that the Thai people would be able to find a peaceful solution to their problems," the Foreign Ministry spokesman said while responding to a question.

Reports said that several people have died during the on-going anti-government protests.

"Pakistan further hopes that democratic principles will be honored and democratic institutions will be respected in Thailand," the spokesman said in a statement.
