Tipsters rewarded

More than 300 people have received rewards this year for tipping off local food safety authorities about violations, eastday.com reported Wednesday.

The city's food and drug safety hotline has handled 62,352 inquiries since it was launched in March 2012.  Callers whose tips turn out to be true can receive cash rewards ranging from 500 yuan ($82) to 200,000 yuan.
