Two injured in train-truck collision in western Japan

Two railway passengers were injured on Friday when a train and a truck collided at a level crossing on the JR Shikoku's Yosan Line, in the western Japanese prefecture of Ehime, local press said.

The accident happened at around 3:40 p.m. local time after the passenger train and the truck collided at the crossing near Goro Station in Ozu City of the prefecture, according to the country's public broadcaster NHK.

The report said that after the collision, two passengers on the train were admitted to a local hospital where they have been treated for minor injuries.

Local police are investigating the cause of the accident.
