Walmart seeks business opportunity in Vietnam

Vice President of Walmart Global Procurement Bill Foudy said Tuesday the world's largest retailer desires to seek business opportunities in Vietnam by presenting Vietnamese exported products to Walmart retail sale chain stores as well as establishing retail systems in Vietnam.

Foudy made the remarks at the meeting with Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Vu Van Ninh in Vietnam's capital Hanoi.

According to Foudy, the business activities of Walmart will contribute to boosting cooperation between the United States and Vietnam, under the spirit of the two countries' comprehensive partnership agreement.

Foudy added Vietnamese products including footwear, garment and household equipments are expected to be exported to Walmart stores in Canada, Chile, Mexico and China, Vietnamese government e-portal reported.

Vu Van Ninh said that Vietnam will create favorable conditions for investment activities of Walmart in Vietnam.

Walmart is an American multinational corporation that runs chains of department stores and warehouse stores with approximately 11,000 stores all over the world. In June 2013, Walmart opened its representative office in Vietnam's southern economic hub of Ho Chi Minh City.
