Former head coach of the Chinese national soccer team Arie Haan will return to Chinese Super League's (CSL) Tianjin Teda to replace Alexandre Guimaraes as the head coach, the club announced Sunday.

Guimaraes led the Tianjin-based club to finish in 11th place at the CSL 2013 season with 34 points.

Haan led the national team to achieve a best-finish at the Asian Cup, held in China in 2004, as the runners-up.

Haan previously coached Teda from December 2009. He took Teda to a club-best second-place finish in the CSL 2010 season, and the team won the Chinese FA Cup trophy in 2011. But he left Teda after the CSL 2011 season as his contract had expired.
