China's National Defense Ministry spokesman said Thursday that its scientific experiments did not target any country, in response to media reports about China's recent test of a hypersonic missile carrier.

"It is normal for China to carry out planned scientific research and experiments within its borders. The tests are not aimed at any country or any specific target," the spokesman said in a statement.
