Iran will never bow to pressure and will never stop supporting Syrian government, Iran's Minister of Labor, Cooperatives and Welfare Ali Rabiei said on Sunday.

"Regional peace is more important to us than anything else, and the current visit by Syrian Minister of Social Affairs Kinda al- Shammat to Iran indicates that Iran will not yield to pressure to provide Syria with humanitarian and moral aid and to offer psychological help," Rabiei said on the sidelines of a meeting with his Syrian counterpart in Tehran.

"Terrorism is a serious issue in the region and in Syria," he was quoted as saying by Press TV.

Iran's support for Syria under the current circumstances is a " sign of regional stability and peace," he said, adding that undemocratic changes cannot be made in the region through international pressure.

The violence in Syria has been persistent since the eruption of Syria's crisis in 2011. The Syrian government and a delegation of the Syrian opposition are currently holding meetings in Geneva to try to hammer out a political solution to the long-standing conflict that has killed over 130,000 people.
