A young man passed out while on a train returning home for the Spring Festival after discovering his parents had arranged blind dates to pressure him to marry.

Train attendants had to revive the 36-year-old man surnamed Huang after he fell unconscious a few stops away from his hometown of Pingxiang, Jiangxi Province on January 26.

According to Huang, his family has been setting him up on blind dates ever since he graduated from college despite his protests.

Huang said he opened a business in Zhengzhou, Henan Province to escape the constant pressure from his family.

He only decided to return home this Spring Festival on the condition his parents would not meddle in his love life.

However, while calling his cousin to meet him at the station he discovered that his parents had indeed arranged blind dates. Huang fainted in anger.

Chinese singles often face tremendous pressure from family members to marry. A woman had written a full-page apology to her son on the front page of the Chinese Melbourne Daily promising not to urge him to marry on January 14.
