Israeli soldiers opened fire Friday and wounded 20 Palestinians in the West Bank and 6 in the Gaza Strip during clashes with Palestinian protestors, medical officials and witnesses said.

Witnesses said that Israeli soldiers dispersed dozens of Palestinians with live ammunition and rubber bullets, who demonstrated outside al-Jalazoon refugee camp near Ramallah.

The witnesses said that clashes broke out between the soldiers and the demonstrators, who threw stones and empty bottles at the soldiers.

Hospital officials said that at least 20 Palestinians were injured by live ammunition and rubber bullets, adding that one of them is in serious condition.

The Palestinians were protesting the killing of a Palestinian on Wednesday by Israeli soldiers. The young man, who was killed, is a resident of the refugee camp.

In Gaza, Israeli soldiers stationed on the borderline area between Israel and Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip opened fire and wounded a 27-year-old Palestinian farmer, hospital officials said.

Witnesses said that as soon as the farmer approached the no-go security zone near the borders, the soldiers opened fire and wounded him.

Later on Friday, dozens demonstrated near the eastern borders between the coastal enclave and Israel. The demonstration is held on weekly basis against more than seven years of Israeli blockade imposed on the territory.

Hospital officials in Gaza said that five Palestinians were injured, three of them are in moderate conditions.

Earlier on Friday, Israeli war jets successively struck four targets belonging to militants in the Palestinian coastal enclave. At least seven civilians were lightly injured in the airstrikes.

The Israeli airstrikes were an immediate response to earlier rocket attack carried out by militants. The rocket landed on southern Israel causing no injuries or damages.

Meanwhile, Islamic Hamas movement's premier Ismail Haneya stressed on Friday that his movement, which controls the Gaza Strip, won't abandon "armed resistance against Israel."

"Our armed resistance against the enemy is a strategic choice," Haneya told Friday prayers in northern Gaza, adding "those who think that the airstrikes would weaken us or frighten us is mistaken."
