Malaysia will hold discussion with China on exporting its fruits, especially durian, to China, Malaysian Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob said on Saturday.

Sabri said there will be a meeting between the two sides on this issue in April.

"Representatives from china have come to Malaysia to carry out inspection at our fruit orchards to see whether our farmers met their standard," he said after attending an event in Bukit Mertajam, Penang.

Sabri said Malaysia currently only exports frozen fruits to China. Malaysia's export of fruits amounted to 423.4 million US dollars a year, he said, adding that 30 percent of them went to China.
