The Hamas chief in the Gaza Strip said on Saturday that his movement will not accept any framework peace agreement between Israel the Palestinian National Authority (PNA) based in the West Bank.

"Such a deal is meant to perpetuate (Israel's) occupation of Palestine," Ismail Haniya said at the opening ceremony of a charity organization in Gaza that cares for freed female prisoners from Israeli prisons.

Haniya stressed that Islamic Hamas movement, which rules Gaza since mid-2007, will never agree to give up the Palestinian lands and the Palestinians' right of return.

Hamas has rejected the current US-sponsored peace negotiations which started last July and are set to end in April.

US Secretary of State John Kerry, who mediates the talks, is supposed to propose a framework peace plan soon.
