Thongsing Thammavong, Prime Minister of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, is scheduled to make an official visit to Singapore from Thursday to Friday, the city-state's foreign ministry said on Wednesday.
"Prime Minister Thongsing's visit underscores the excellent ties between Singapore and Lao PDR, and marks the 40th anniversary of bilateral relations," the ministry said.
During Thongsing's stay in Singapore, he will call on Singapore President Tony Tan Keng Yam, as well as his counterpart Lee Hsien Loong.
Thongsing is scheduled to visit Singapore's Urban Redevelopment Authority, ITE College Central and Sentosa Development Corporation.
He will also open the exhibition "Handmade in Asia Weaving the Cosmic Serpent in Laos" on Lao woven textiles at the Asian Civilisations Museum on Thursday.
According to the ministry's statement, Thongsing will be accompanied by several ministers and senior government officials, as well as a business delegation.
