Israel will be demanded to freeze part of its settlements construction amid a framework agreement drafted by US Secretary of State John Kerry, Israel's Army Radio reported on Wednesday.
The United States will request Israel to free the construction in the isolated settlements which are outside of major settlement blocks, the report said, adding that the construction freeze would be unofficial.
No response from Israel has been officially given yet to the demand, the radio added, noting that the prime minister's office refused to comment on the report.
Kerry has been working with Israeli and Palestinian diplomats in the past couple of months, trying to achieve a framework agreement that would outline the progress of the peace talks between the two sides in the following years.
One of the major issues in the talks between Israel and the Palestinians, which restarted in last July after a three-year halt, is the establishment of a Palestinian state alongside Israel in the Palestinian territories in the West Bank.
In recent months, Israel had announced the construction of thousands of housing units in the settlements in East Jerusalem and the West Bank, lands Israel annexed during the 1967 Mideast War, which drew the ire of the Palestinians and part of the international community.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is scheduled to meet with US President Barack Obama in Washington in March to discuss peace talks with the Palestinians and Iran's nuclear program.
