A total of 529 policemen were put into commission Thursday after completion of 15- week training course in southern Kandahar province.

"Today 529 police graduated from the Police Training Center and will be deployed to Kandahar and Zabul provinces to further stabilize the southern region," commander of Police Training Center, Nasrullah Zarifi said after giving certificates to the newly graduated policemen.

He also called on the policemen to spare no efforts in ensuring law and order in society.

Speaking at the ceremony, the police chief of Kandahar province, Abdul Razaq, instructed the newly graduated policemen to fully respect law and rights of citizens in performing duty.

The strength of Afghan police will reach 150,000 by the end of this year.
