Nuclear talks between Iran and world powers proceed in a desired direction, a spokesman for the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) was quoted as saying by Press TV on Saturday.

Behrouz Kamalvandi said "It seems that both parties are satisfied, though negotiations are very hard and they need many more expert level meetings. We can get into the issues in more details and define a framework for the negotiations."

Iran was aware of the tactics of the six countries during the course of the talks, which included intense media spin, Kamalvandi said, adding that the Iranian team was able to counter those tactics through focusing on some key, legal, technical and political issues.

Tehran attained certain key objectives by using multi-layered diplomacy in the latest round of talks between Iran and the six world powers -- the United States, France, Britain, Russia, China and Germany, he said without elaboration.

Both sides now need to prepare for intense discussions over the technical aspects of the Iranian nuclear program, he added.

Commenting on the cooperation between Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Kamalvandi said Tehran's prime objective is to engage more directly with the UN nuclear agency.

After three days of intensive talks, EU's foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton and Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif announced on Thursday the timetable for the next round of Iranian nuclear talks.

Speaking of the nuclear talks between Iran and the P5+1 -- China, Britain, France, Russia, the United States plus Germany -- in Vienna, Ashton said we had "three very productive days," during which, all the involved parties discussed "all of the issues we need to address in reaching a comprehensive final agreement."
