Lebanon's Information Minister Ramzi Jreij stressed Saturday that the new government's priority is to preserve security and confront terrorism, local radio Voice of Lebanon reported.
"We must unravel the underlying motivations behind acts of terror in order to secure stability and hold the presidential election on time," Jreij said.
The Lebanese government officially sticks to the self- distancing policy regarding the Syrian crisis, but the country's Shiite movement Hezbollah takes side with the administration of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and is fighting with his troops, while some other Lebanese political parties side with the Syrian rebels under the opposition "March 14" camp.
