At least 11 people were killed and 35 others wounded in a deadly bombing attack in the Iraqi capital city of Baghdad on Thursday, police said.
The attack occurred when a booby-trapped motorcycle exploded in a popular market in the Shiite area of Sadr City in eastern Baghdad, a police source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.
No militant group has so far claimed responsibility for the attack.
The blast came after twenty-four people were killed and 16 others wounded in separate violent attacks across the country earlier in the day.
Iraq is witnessing its worst violence in recent years. According to the UN Assistance Mission for Iraq, a total of 8,868 Iraqis, including 7,818 civilians and civilian police personnel, were killed in 2013, the highest annual death toll in years.
