Lifting all sanctions against Iran over its nuclear program will help Tehran and world powers reach a final agreement regarding the issue, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said Sunday.
In the nuclear talks, "what is important is boosting the Iranians' confidence and respecting their rights" by the P5+1 group, namely Britain, China, France, Russia, the United States plus Germany, Zarif said at joint press conference with visiting Spanish Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Garcia-Margallo.
In a reciprocal manner, all the sanctions against Iran should be lifted and his country will also "remove the logical concerns" of the P5+1 group over its nuclear program, he said, adding that this will help the two sides reach a final comprehensive deal.
"Good will and political resolve of the other party as well as its commitment to the Joint Plan of Action in Geneva will make a comprehensive solution possible within six months," he said.
For his part, the visiting Spanish foreign minister expressed satisfaction with the nuclear agreement between Iran and the world powers.
He expressed optimism that rapprochement in Iran's relations with the West will also help expand cooperation between the two countries on all fronts.
He expressed hope that tensions between his country and Iran in the past will be alleviated in the future through enhancement of cooperation.
Iran and the powers inked an interim deal in Geneva in November, 2013. Under the deal Iran agreed to freeze part of its nuclear activities in exchange for a relief in the West's sanctions on its economy. On February 26, after three days of intensive negotiations, the two sides announced a timetable for their talks toward a comprehensive deal.
