Israel urged the international community on Sunday to take notice of the reportedly captured Iranian weapon ship.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu Sunday specifically talked about the European Union's foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton. The latter is currently making a historical visit to Teheran for talks on Iran's controversial nuclear program.
"I call this (the seize of the ship) to the attention of Catherine Ashton...I would like to ask her if she asked her Iranian hosts about this shipment of weapons for terrorist organizations, and if not, why not," the prime minister said.
"I think that it would be proper for the international community to give its opinion regarding Iran's true policy," Netanyahu added.
Earlier Tuesday the Israeli navy raided the Klos C ship on the maritime border of Sudan and Eritrea, about 1,500 km from Israeli shores, and found long-range rockets and other munitions on board.
But the Iranians rejected the Israeli allegations that their country was behind the shipment.
Netanyahu has been charging Iran for posing a risk to the state of Israel by arming its neighboring militant foes like the Palestinian Hamas and the Lebanese Hezbollah organizations.
Iran, on its part, has denied the accusation and insisted that its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes only.
