The third round of anti-graft inspection will start soon, according to Xinhua News Agency.

The Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) of the Communist Party of China (CPC) has carried out two rounds of inspections to discover malpractice and harmful work styles since last May, finding evidence of corruption leading to punishment of wrongdoers.

The third round will for the first time launch the "special inspection," a term Wang Qishan, secretary of CCDI, mentioned in a CCDI meeting in January, The Beijing News reported Sunday.

Li Yongzhong, an anti-graft specialist, said the "special inspection" will break the current schedule of inspecting 31 regions in five years. Now inspectors will be sent whenever there is a problem, he said. The new inspection mode is "problem oriented" and more flexible.

The "special inspection" team will send inspectors to the Ministry of Science and Technology, Shanghai-based Fudan University, state-owned China National Cereals, Oils and Foodstuffs Corporation (COFCO). The provincial-level areas of Beijing, Tianjin, Liaoning, Fujian, Shandong, Henan, Hainan, Gansu, Ningxia, Xinjiang, and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps will also be included in the third round of inspection.

Wang Saturday called for innovation in disciplinary inspection to make it "the Sword of Damocles" that hangs above those in power at a meeting to deploy inspection work in 2014. The organizational and supervisory system should be innovated, he said.
