Shanghai SIPG's Lü Wenjun was given a four-league-game ban and fined 20,000 yuan ($3,216) Friday by the Chinese Football Association for his behavior while celebrating during a match against Shanghai Shenxi.

Lü scored an equalizing goal with an overhead kick in the 36th minute of the match on March 16, in the second round of the 2014 Chinese Super League.

But his celebrations, including a middle-finger gesture, were considered to have gone too far, and he received a yellow card from the referee.

SIPG went on to trounce their city rivals 5-1.
