1st Cambodian-Chinese dance sport show held in Cambodian capital

The First Cambodian-Chinese Standard Dance Sport Show was held at the National Olympic Committee here Saturday.

Dozens of Cambodian and Chinese dancers, from the Cambodia- International Dance Sport Training Center, which is run by Chinese female-instructor Cheung Choi Wah, had performed international styles of standard or ballroom dances and Latin dances at the 3- hour show.

Besides, Chinese dance sports, including Tai Chi, Fan dance, and Kung Fu, were also staged by Cambodian athletes at the event.

Nhem Morokot, undersecretary of state of the Cambodian Ministry of Women's Affairs and president of the Cambodian Dance Sport Federation (CDSF), said the country formed the CDSF last October. Currently, the CDSF is preparing paperwork to submit to the World Dance Sport Federation for a membership.

"The show today is very important to help develop international dance sport in Cambodia," she said at the opening ceremony. "The federation fully supports the training of talented Cambodian athletes for international dance sport competitions in the future. "
