Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen said Thursday that the country is looking forwards to developing trade, investment, and tourism relations and cooperation with Belarus for mutual benefits.

The premier made the remarks during a meeting with visiting Foreign Minister of Belarus Vladimir Makei at the Peace Palace in capital Phnom Penh.

He said the two countries are complementary since Cambodia has potential in agriculture and Belarus is a leading manufacturer of agricultural machinery.

Makei said it was his first visit to Cambodia to promote bilateral ties.

Earlier in the day, Makei and Cambodian Industry Minister Cham Prasidh jointly inaugurated a Belarus-invested tractor assembly plant, a positive sign of growing bilateral trade and economic relations and cooperation.

On Wednesday, Makei signed with his Cambodian counterpart Hor Namhong a visa exemption agreement for diplomatic and official passport holders.
