Bahraini Police said on Saturday that it found several Molotov cocktails from a flat owned by the Housing Ministry in the suburbs of the capital Manama.

The police said "a number of ready-to-use Molotov cocktails were confiscated from the flat of a residential building affiliated with the Housing Ministry" in the unrest-hit Sanabis village near the capital. They have launched an investigation to identify and arrest the suspects.

Earlier this month three policemen died after a home-made bomb was detonated by radical opposition groups in the village of Daih, west of the capital Manama.

Local authorities have also defused more than three booby- trapped cars this month. The explosives would have caused a huge damage if detonated.

Bahrain is all set to host the 2014 Formula One Grand Prix in early April. Anti-government protestors and opposition groups have called for a series of protests before the race, hoping to cancel the sporting event.
