Singapore's Emeritus Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong is scheduled to attend the Bo'ao Forum for Asia (BFA) Annual Conference in China's Hainan Province from Tuesday to Thursday, the city-state's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Monday.

Goh, who is also a member of the forum's board of directors, will attend BFA Board meetings. He will also attend a luncheon hosted by Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang for visiting heads of state, heads of government and selected guests.

Goh is scheduled to have meetings with foreign leaders and senior Chinese officials on the sidelines of the annual conference.

After the meeting, Goh will visit China's Shandong Province from Thursday to Sunday, in particular Shandong's Jinan city and Qingdao city.

"This visit seeks to reaffirm Singapore's long-standing ties and cooperation with Shandong, which is the first Chinese province with which Singapore established a business council in 1993," the foreign ministry said in a statement.

Goh will also meet Singaporean businessmen in Shandong, attend a briefing on the Sino-Singapore Jinan Smart City Project, and visit major Singaporean and Chinese companies in Qingdao.
