Iran's vice president for environmental affairs was injured in a car accident on Wednesday, official IRNA news agency reported.

The accident occurred when Ma'soomeh Ebtekar was on her way to a meeting on Wednesday morning, said IRNA, adding that she was hurt on the shoulder and the arm.

The report did not elaborate further on the general condition of the vice president but said she has undergone a surgery.
