Samsung Electronics, the world's No. 1 smartphone maker, said Friday that it had launched its latest smartphone and wearable devices in 125 countries worldwide, the largest one-day rollout in its history.

Samsung's flagship Galaxy S5 smartphone will be available in 125 countries worldwide, including the United States, Britain, China, Russia, the United Arab Emirates, South Africa and Peru, from Friday along with Gear devices such as Gear 2, Gear 2 Neo and Gear Fit, the company said in a statement.

The launch in 125 countries was the largest in Samsung's history. The predecessors Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy S4 were on the shelf simultaneously in 58 and 60 countries respectively.

Samsung planned to make the new devices available in around 150 nations through some 350 mobile operators until next month.

The Galaxy S5 featured the world's first cardiotachometer built in the device, function of water and dust resistance, fingerprint verification function and enhance camera.

The Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo had fitness applications, including real-time fitness coaching with a sensor of cardiac impulse, as well as a standalone music player.

The Gear Fit was better suited to a wearable device with the industry's first curved AMOLED display, featuring the gauging of cardiac impulse and real-time fitness coaching.

"The refined design and technological innovation of our new Galaxy S5 and Samsung Gear devices are the direct result of Samsung listening carefully to what consumers wanted in the next generation of mobile technology," said Shin Jong-kyun, president and head of Samsung's mobile business.
