In a seven-goal thriller on Friday night, Gao Lin helped Guangzhou Evergrande with two goals to hammer Tianjin Teda 5-2 at Tianjin Olympic Sports Center in Tianjin.
Four of Evergrande's goals came from domestic players, which met coach Marcello Lippi's expectation, as the Italian revealed after the game.
"It's very positive to see the domestic players finding their range, I hope all my players take part in attacking," Lippi told the post-match news conference.
"It would be upsetting to see only the foreign players scoring, since that would mean tough times if our foreign attackers weren't available," he added.
But the World Cup-winning coach also expressed his concern about Evergrande's defending.
"Our domestic players are outscoring the foreign players, so that's not a worry. What concerns me is that at the same time we are improving in attacking, we conceded more goals than before."
Teda coach Arie Haan expressed his disappointment after the game.
"I'm disappointed. We have played six games, in five of which we conceded the first goal of the game. Under such situations the game is naturally tougher for us. "
The previous game for Tianjin also saw them suffer a four-goal defeat to Jiangsu Sainty on April 5. The Dutchman admitted there's still room for his defenders to improve.
"You conceded four and five goals in the latest two games, which means there are problems in defending. This is why we need to make changes."
Dong Xuesheng offered Evergrande a flying start as he scored the opening goal with a header in the fifth minute, but was quickly answered by Wang Xinxin only 11 minutes later.
Gao's vintage moves around the half-hour mark put the visitors in the lead again as his right-footed curve netted into the right side of the goal.
The hosts then equalized the scoreboard at 2-2 thanks to a header from Zhou Haibin, but the goal ignited the Evergrande players attacking fever as they quickly responded with a half-volley from Rong Hao eight minutes before the hour mark.
Veteran Li Weifeng then was sent off three minutes later, after he pulled down Evergrande's Elkeson in the box, sadly soiling the milestone of his 100th game for Teda.
Elkeson went on to take the penalty, making the game 4-2.
Ten-man Teda's deficit was later expoited by Gao in the 68th minute, turning the clash into a one-sided game.
The hosts still had chances but were denied by Evergrande goalie Zeng Cheng. The visitors managed to keep the margin of victory at three goals until the final whistle of the game.
Later on Friday, Beijing Guoan denied Guizhou Renhe's home effort 2-1 thanks to Pablo Batalla's late winner.
