Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto said Friday that his country's relations with France have ample room to grow.

Pena Nieto, attending a forum with visiting French President Francois Hollande, said the bilateral ties could generate value chains that promote the development of various industries and offer business opportunities to enterprises, large and small.

Hollande said the two friends and partners can work well together.

He touted Mexico's market potential as the second largest economy in Latin America and the 14th largest worldwide, with about 120 million consumers.

"Mexico has foreign debt, but it is a healthy, dynamic country capable of opening up to French companies," he told the forum. There are now some 400 French enterprises operating in Mexico.

Hollande was in Mexico from Thursday to Friday to strengthen both trade and diplomatic ties. During his state visit, the two countries have agreed on 40 accords in fields ranging from education to health and aeronautics.
