Park employees explained that Sijia became depressed ever since her childhood friend, Meiqian, was returned to a facility in Sichuan Province on March 31, reported local media.

Sijia is one of three pandas that were transferred to the park in 2008 after the Wenchuan earthquake damaged their original home at the China Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Panda  in Sichuan Province.

In addition to installing a new swing in her habitat, employees set up a TV to play home movies so Sijia could see her childhood friend.
