Peak wins presidential praise for Olympic support

Slovenian President Borut Pahor thanked Chinese sportswear manufacturer Peak for its contributions to the nation's record-setting Olympic program during an April 7 reception honoring athletes at the presidential palace in the capital city of Ljubljana.

Tina Maze, the double gold-medal alpine-ski racer and most successful female skier in Slovenian history, was among the athletes honored for not only bringing home an unprecedented eight medals, but also bringing Peak-brand gear to the Olympic winner's podium for the first time.

Drago Martinjak, head of distribution in Slovenia, was on hand to award athletes on behalf of Peak chairman Xu Jingnan for helping to promote Peak during the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia.

"The sight of Slovenian athletes on the highest Olympics podium wearing Peak uniforms is the best evidence of the professional equipment of Peak. The fighting spirit and courage that athletes showed in the Games also inspires Peak to move forward unceasingly to internationalization," said Xu in a letter congratulating the athletes.

Wearing Peak professional equipment for the first time in competition, the athletes won a record eight medals, including two golds, two silvers and four bronzes.

Olympic judo champion Urska Zolnir marked the beginning of cooperation between Slovenia and Peak when she accepted her gold medal while wearing a Peak uniform during the 2012 London Olympics.

Peak has become the leading sports brand in Slovenia through continuous development and Slovenia's medal-winning Olympic athletes. 

Following Peak's success at Sochi, the brand has embraced other world-class athletic events such as the Nanjing Youth Olympics and signing spokesmen like NBA stars Tony Parker and Shane Battier.
