Iran is planning to hold a specialized drone war game in the second half of the current Iranian year, from September 23, 2014 to March 20, 2015, Tasnim news agency reported on Wednesday.

"The drill will be staged independently by the Ground Force of the Islamic Republic of Iran's Army" in the second half of the current Iranian year, the report quoted Brigadier General Ahmad Reza Pourdastan as saying.

The commander noted that the upcoming drone drill will be held either in the Aliabad region, near the central city of Qom, or in the central province of Isfahan.

In September 2013, Pourdastan unveiled his force's latest version of "Yasir" Unmanned Aerial Vehicle. The announcement came two days ahead of celebrations on the occasion of Iran's National Army Day.

The Iranian army units will put their most recent achievements on display during the parades.
