A total of 59 enterprises were registered in March with registered capital of only 1 yuan ($0.16), data from the State Administration for Industry and Commerce showed Wednesday.

However, the 59 firms only account for 0.02 percent of the total number of newly registered firms in March.

Starting from March 1, China canceled capital thresholds for setting up some types of companies, including 30,000 yuan for limited liability companies.
