"Recently, we installed monitoring cameras in the kitchens of these snack bars and installed eight TV sets in the dining hall, so the diners can clearly see every move in the kitchen."

Cui Xinying, manger of the food court in Jingbei Shopping Mall in Huairou district, said this about the new move to improve the service of the restaurants in the mall. There are a total of 11 snack bars in the food court on the fifth floor of the mall, and space for 350 diners t0 sit. According to Cui, on average the court serves 3,000 dinners every day. Diners can watch their food being prepared live, allaying worries about sanitation. The installation of monitoring cameras has won the applause of regular dinners in the food court.
