The front door of the kindergarten affiliated to the College of Preschool Education at Capital Normal University has become a construction site. Schoolchildren must walk down an unsafe 150-meter makeshift road to and from the kindergarten, the Beijing Youth Daily reported.

A video uploaded to the Internet by a worried parent shows the 4-meter-wide dusty road filled with bricks, sand, concrete and other construction materials, with no fence to keep pedestrians away from the buildings under construction. A makeshift fence has since been built out of steel plate but is unstable on windy days. The neighborhood committee is assisting the kindergarten to solve the problem.
