More than 70,000 officials have been dispatched to villages and communities in Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, in an effort to carry out the mass line campaign to boost development and people's livelihoods in the region.

A total of 74,396 officials and 11,095 work teams from governments have already lived and worked in every village and important community in Xinjiang for six weeks, the authorities said at a mass line campaign meeting on Saturday, Xinjiang Daily reported.

These officials and work teams are aimed at strengthening the communication between the government and public, improving people's livelihoods and promoting unity of different ethnic groups and religions.

China's mass line campaign, which began in June 2013, focuses on making the government more accessible to the public, while cleaning up undesirable work styles.
