A Chinese military delegation discussed implementation of border pacts with Indian army officials in New Delhi on Tuesday.

Lieutenant General Qi Jianguo, vice-chief of the General Staff Headquarters of the People's Liberation Army, led the Chinese delegation, the New Indian Express reported.

The Indian side was led by Director General Military Operations Lieutenant General P R Kumar and Vice Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Dalbir Suhag.

"The two sides exchanged views on various issues of mutual interest such as maintenance of peace and tranquility along the LAC [line of actual control] and enhancing mutual cooperation and understanding between the armies," according to an Indian Army press release quoted in the Chennai-based newspaper.

Talks between the two armies come after the two sides signed the Border Defense Cooperation Agreement in October 2013 to avoid any flareup.

"Both sides agreed on the need to enhance bilateral engagements," Indian army officials were quoted as saying in the press release.
