British Prime Minister David Cameron on Wednesday met with his Slovenian counterpart Alenka Bratusek to discuss the Ukraine issue and Slovenia's economic reform.

"They discussed the crisis in Ukraine, and the importance of sending a clear message that all sides must work urgently to de-escalate the situation," a Downing Street spokesperson said in a statement following the meeting.

The spokesperson added that Cameron congratulated Bratusek on the success of her economic reform program in her country so far.

Cameron "looked forward to working together to promote reform and growth at the European level," the spokesperson noted.

The two leaders also agreed on the need to work together to promote stability and reform in Bosnia and Herzegovina, according to the spokesperson.

Bratusek began her two-day working visit to London on Tuesday, seeking to boost ties between Slovenia and Britain.

The tour marked Bratusek's first official visit to Downing Street after she became Slovenian prime minister in March 2013.
