Vietnam always remembers the supports of Chinese advisors and experts during the country's struggle for national liberation, said Vietnamese President Truong Tan Sang.

Sang made the remark while receiving a delegation of Chinese former experts and their families in Vietnam's capital Hanoi on Wednesday.

The visit of the delegation to Vietnam recalled the close friendship between the two nations during the tough years of struggling for independence in the past, the online newspaper of Vietnamese defense ministry quoted Sang as saying on Thursday.

Vietnamese president expressed his hope that the two sides will further promote exchanges of visits to strengthen Vietnam-China ties and to educate young people on the bilateral relations which were nurtured by generations of the two countries' leaders.

Qi Jianguo, vice chairman of China-Vietnam Friendship Association, for his part, said that with mutual efforts made by the two countries, the China-Vietnam relations would be lifted up to a new level.

On Thursday, the delegation of Chinese former experts and their families paid a visit to the residence of Vietnamese late General Vo Nguyen Giap in Hanoi and met with Giap's family members.

During the meeting, the two sides showed each other photos and talked about memories of their parenthood during struggle time.
