Police detained an intern surnamed Ding on the charge of larceny; she allegedly stole from her company because she felt that her low salary caused her to lose face in front of her friends, the Beijing Morning Post reported.

On April 8, Beijing Criminal Investigation Department Chaoyang Division was contacted by the owner of a toy studio, who was reporting the theft of two laptops, a camera, three camera lenses and lots of toys.

Investigators studied the surveillance video and saw a girl entering the studio at midnight on April 5, 6 and 7. She was seen opening the front door with keys and locking the door when she left. The owner recognized the thief as the studio's new intern. When arrested on April 9, Ding confessed everything.
