World champions He Zi and He Chong, both of China, won the gold medals of the women's and men's 3m springboard at the FINA Diving World Series at London Aquatics Centre on Saturday.

He Zi survived a scare to hold off compatriot Wang Han and win the women's event.

After leading through the opening three rounds, He slipped behind Wang on the fourth dive before leapfrogging back to top spot with her final effort to take gold on 360.15 ahead of Wang's 359.00.

He Zi's victory was her 18th individually at World Series level and her second this season, having also won the title last time out in Dubai.

He Chong held off a world class field to land the men's title.

The Chinese diver continued his 100 percent record in this year's World Series to claim gold on 559.00 ahead of Russian pair Illya Zakharov (536.15), the Olympic champion, and Evgeny Kuznetsov (523.20).

He Chong took control in the third round of dives and never let his lead slip, scoring 102.60 for his penultimate forward 4.5 somersaults with tuck and 93.60 for his final dive - a front 2.5 somersaults, 3 twists piked.
