China beat host Japan 3-0 to defend the Corbillon Cup at the World Team Championship on Monday.

Ding Ning beat Ishigaki Yuka 11-8, 8-11, 11-2 and 11-5 to set the Chinese juggernaut rolling. Ishigaki rose in the second game to challenge the 2011 women's singles world champion Ding by winning the game 11-8. But Ding responded with control and grip.

Reigning Olympic and world champion Li Xiaoxia followed Ding's path to overcome Ishikawa Kasumi 11-8, 11-7 and 11-7. Ishikawa gave her best but posed little threat to the Chinese captain. [

Liu Shiwen gave no chance to Hirano Sayaka as she concluded the final with 11-4, 11-2 and 11-5.

China had won the title without surrendering a single individual match in the eight days of action.

"The players even gave me no chance to call a timeout," said Kong Linghui, the head coach of the Chinese women's team.

"Ding Ning now is in a very good and firm condition," said Kong. "Her performance is now in a good consistency after winning the Asian Cup this year."

"Li Xiaoxia has always been the leading role of the team. And she proved herself to be a good captain this time," said Kong.

"Liu Shiwen proved herself this time. She lost in Moscow but we decided to give her chance in this final and she didn't miss it. I'm satisfied with her performance."
